Where Gilda Started

Her owner did not describe a problem dog. She described a puppy who deserved excellent, intensive training, and who was going to be a handful without it.

That is a good instinct. A bright, high-energy puppy with no structure does not stay neutral. She fills the gap herself, and undoing that later takes far longer than building it right the first time.

The Training Journey

Gilda spent two weeks with Lindsey in a board and train program. Which program a young dog is ready for depends on her age, so that is always the first thing we work out on the phone.

Her owner received videos and photos throughout the stay, which is how you know a young dog is doing well and not just getting through the two weeks. She also mentions Lindsey’s patience, which matters more with a puppy than with almost any other kind of dog.

At pickup, the handover session was open to the whole family, with clear instructions for everyone. That is deliberate. A puppy who listens to one person and ignores the rest of the household has learned only half of what she needs.

Gilda’s Wins

Gilda came home a genuinely off-leash dog, and one her owner can count on to respond to commands consistently.

She was also visibly happy and healthy at pickup, and delighted to see Lindsey again when they ran into each other later. Her personality survived intact. Her owner still calls her sassy, and means it fondly.

What It Changed for Her Family

Gilda now goes almost everywhere with them: restaurants, outdoor concerts, stores, friends’ houses, family homes, anywhere dogs are welcome. People regularly stop them to ask how she got so well behaved.

Her owner calls sending Gilda to us one of their best decisions as lifelong dog owners. The freedom the training gave her, she says, makes the whole family happy.
