07 · FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
The most common questions from North Alabama families — answered by Lindsey & Blake directly.
How much does dog training cost in Huntsville, AL?
Our programs range from $500 for puppy foundations to $4,650 for intensive aggression behavior modification. Most families invest between $950 and $2,900 depending on their dog's needs and the program selected. Affirm financing is available, and we offer military and first-responder discounts. See our full pricing page for details.
What's the difference between private lessons and board & train?
Private lessons are 1-on-1 sessions at your home where we train you AND your dog together — great for owners who want hands-on learning. Board & train is a 2-week immersive program where your dog stays with us for intensive daily training, ending with a full owner hand-off session. Board & train delivers faster transformation; private lessons build deeper owner skills over time.
Can you really guarantee off-leash obedience?
Yes — for non-aggressive, non-anxious dogs, we offer a 100% off-leash guarantee. We proof every command in real-world environments with escalating distractions until your dog responds reliably without a leash. If your dog isn't performing at the guaranteed level, we bring them back for additional training at no cost.
Do you train aggressive or reactive dogs?
Absolutely. We have extensive experience with leash reactivity, dog-on-dog aggression, fear-based behavior, resource guarding, and human-directed aggression. All aggressive cases require an in-person evaluation and muzzle conditioning before enrollment. Call (256) 998-8316 to schedule an assessment.
How old does my puppy need to be to start training?
We start puppies as young as 8 weeks old. Early socialization and foundational manners are critical during the 8-to-16-week developmental window, so the sooner you start, the better the long-term outcome. Our puppy program covers crate training, potty training, name recognition, leash manners, and gentle obedience foundations.
What cities do you serve?
We serve all of North Alabama — Huntsville, Madison, Decatur, Athens, Harvest, Meridianville, Hampton Cove, Owens Cross Roads, Hazel Green, Toney, New Market, Gurley, Big Cove, Capshaw, Maysville, Mt Carmel, Somerville, and surrounding communities in Madison, Limestone, and Morgan counties. No travel fees — same pricing everywhere.
Do you offer military or first-responder discounts?
Yes. We proudly offer discounts for active duty military, veterans, reservists, first responders, and their families — including many Redstone Arsenal families. We're also a veteran-owned business ourselves. Mention your service at your free consultation and we'll apply the discount.
What training methods do you use?
We use a balanced approach combining reward-based motivation with clear communication markers and — where appropriate for off-leash reliability — thoughtful, low-level e-collar conditioning. Our methods are humane, science-backed, and proven across 1,000+ dogs. We never use harsh corrections, intimidation, or prong-only training.
How long does training take?
Most families see a noticeable difference after the very first session. Board-and-train programs deliver dramatic transformation in 2 weeks. Private lesson programs typically run 6 to 10 weeks depending on your goals. Every program includes lifetime support, so you can reach out any time your dog needs a refresher.
