Meet The Off Leash K9 Team

Lindsey Hill - Owner

Lindsey Hill is the proud owner of Off Leash K9 Training in North Alabama (Huntsville, AL). Lindsey began working with OLK9 in May 2019 in an administrative role. She obtained her dog training certification with in March 2020 and has been training dogs for 9 years now.

Lindsey enjoys training dogs of all breeds. She’s especially talented at teaching fur babies how the world may be big but that building a true confident and balanced bond with humans can be so much fun! Her vast experience enables her to train any dog in a fun way…making them a happy and obedient member of the family.

Lindsey’s other gift is teaching dog owners how to become more knowledgeable about their dog so they can create and maintain an amazing bond that will last forever.

She has worked with severe anxiety, reactive, and aggressive dogs with great success. Her approach to training means working with families and dogs alike…making sure the dog is well-balanced and a valuable member of the family.

Lindsey is from a small town near Tuscaloosa, AL, and has been here in Huntsville for 11 years.

In her free time, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, 3 dogs (Labrador, Doberman, and German Shepherd), and cats. And like the rest of us, she enjoys the Huntsville sun and spending time outdoors.

Blake Hill - Trainer

Blake Hill’s journey into dog training began over a decade ago with his own Doberman, now 10 years old. At just a year old, his Doberman developed serious behavioral issues—problems Blake later realized he had unintentionally created through well-meaning but misguided handling. Determined to help his dog, Blake sought guidance from local trainers while diving deep into independent research, trial and error, and behavioral study.

It was during this process that Blake discovered the real breakthrough: obedience commands weren’t the issue—understanding behavior, timing, and communication were. He realized he had been reinforcing the wrong behaviors at the wrong moments, and once he corrected that, everything changed.

Before becoming a full-time dog trainer, Blake worked as a Master Plumber. In that career, he encountered countless aggressive dogs on job sites and was bitten more times than he can count—often after hearing the classic line, “Don’t worry, he won’t bite.” Those experiences forced Blake to become skilled at reading canine body language long before he ever thought about becoming a trainer.

Today, that early foundation, combined with thousands of hours of hands-on experience, has shaped him into a behavior-focused trainer with a passion for truly understanding dogs. Behavioral science and behavior modification are not just part of his job—they’re what he genuinely geeks out about.

Blake gravitates toward aggression and fear-based cases because he understands how these behaviors are created—and, more importantly, how they can be corrected. He has completed Off Leash K9’s intensive 18-day trainer certification, holds a Protection Dog certification in PSA with his German Shepherd, and has personally trained over 500 dogs to date.

At home, Blake lives with his four dogs: his original Doberman who started it all, a German Shepherd he actively competes with in PSA, and two French Bulldogs who keep things entertaining.

Every day, Blake’s mission is the same: to help dogs live more confident, stable, and fulfilled lives—while giving owners the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
